Illuminate Your Sacred Space // How to Restore the Positive Energy in your Home

Illuminating your sacred spaces
This phrase gets thrown around often, it’s our slogan, if you will. What exactly does it mean though? First, a little back story on how we came up with our name!
We always hoped Waxing Moon House would be more than just a space for us to sell our candles. We dreamt of (and are still dreaming up) ways to expand the shops offerings and community. I am deeply influenced by the moon and am in sync with its cycle, with this in mind, as well as the vision for our business, we came up with Waxing Moon House. A clever little play on words, wax/waxing and candles, get it? But that’s not all, folks. The waxing phase of the moon is defined by dictionary.com as “the moon at any time after a new moon and before a full moon, so called because its illuminated area is increasing.”
At WMH, we want to illuminate your sacred spaces. The underlying message is that we hope we are able to share something with you that increases the illumination in your heart and home. Energetically and aesthetically, our homes are our sanctuary.
How you can illuminate your sacred space:
Before transforming any space, magically or otherwise, I believe it to be essential to have a thorough cleansing. Read more here about an energetic cleanse on the (cleaning like a witch post) and a full on magickal cleaning checklist here (not made yet - next blog post = witchy cleaning complete guide)
After you’ve physically and energetically cleansed your home, it’s going to feel pretty sacred already. Take it to the next level with these few suggestions!
Adorn the home with crystals
- tourmaline is excellent when placed in doorways to cleanse those as they pass through of any negative energies
- citrine or pyrite on your desk/near workspace for creativity and focus
- rose quartz in your closet or bathroom to promote self love
